On Wednesday Captain Gopinath emphatically claimed that despite the merger, brand Deccan would survive but sources say that Deccan may be rechristened as Kingfisher by mid next year.

The premium and low cost flying options will be differentiated, even in their names but it won't be Deccan.

Accenture is said to be working on a report on management restructuring report, and that should be ready in a few days. Sources say there could be some rationalisation of the work force especially at the middle and senior management levels.

The Accenture report will also suggest how to deal with the duplication of senior positions of CFO, CTO and COO.
