Datacraft, the region's leading independent IT solutions and services company, has won a prestigious US$3.5 million contract to design and implement next-generation technology infrastructure for a leading software solutions company at their new facility at Chennai, India.
The US$3.5 million contract, which kick-starts the first phase of the project, will cover the design and implementation of an IP network, as well as the deployment of converged communications solution for 4,000 seats. The entire project will be fulfilled in a total of three phases to include designing and deploying an IP network with converged communications, security solutions, wireless solutions and helpdesk services. The second phase will see an addition of 8,000 seats and the third phase another 4,000 seats.
When completed, the new campus will employ more than 16,000 employees and be able to provide software development services to the company’s global client base. The software major sought to implement a reliable networking solution that would allow it to network the upcoming office, as well as enhance collaboration for its partners and employees across the globe; and at the same time, minimise costs and complexity of its communication infrastructure.
To address the software major’s key objectives, Datacraft’s converged communications solution entailed the installation of IP telephony, Cisco Unified Communications Manager with 2,300 IP end points, Cisco Unity Voice Mail, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for collaboration and IP billing software. The Datacraft India team will also provide the software major with wireless access points to facilitate wireless connection in key public areas and meeting rooms. In addition, an IT helpdesk will be set up using Cisco IP Contact Centre (IPCC) solution. Care is taken to ensure that this newly designed converged network is fully compatible with the company’s existing systems.
“Datacraft’s expertise and understanding in designing and integrating complex networks, and our capabilities in deploying technology solutions to address business needs are very evident in this project. The multilayered infrastructure and multiple productivity enhancing solutions will provide the company easier access to new features and capabilities to its internal and external customers.” said Mr. Sunil Manglore, General Manager, Datacraft
“Datacraft will also provide a three-year Uptime maintenance and support service for the client. Uptime ensures fast response and quick resolution of IT infrastructure problems. This end-to-end service helps deliver optimum support for business operations – 24x7, 365 days a year – through expert troubleshooting and problem resolution for mission-critical IT systems.” added Manglore.
