The facility will also be global manufacturing hub for a newly developed line of generator sets from 7.5 kVA to 45 kVA that will be manufactured only in India.

Built with an investment of Rs 20 crore, the Pirangut facility has a dedicated export- oriented unit and domestic tariff area with a combined installed capacity to produce 50,000 open and closed generator sets, per annum. Manufacture of the 30-38 kVA range has commenced here, and the entire range will be introduced over the next seven to nine months, Mr Anant Talaulicar, Chairman and Managing Director, CIL, said.
