25th April 2007 was a historical day for the Ryan International Education group as Cricket Legend Steve Waugh - (Former Captain of the Australian Team) visited their students from different Ryan Schools located in various states of India. The session took place at one of their schools in Vasantkunj (Delhi).  Steve was accompanied by Milton Nelms, former coach of world champion Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe, Jeff Kunhe and Gautam Gadgil. The interactive session was facilitated by the Chairman of Ryan International Group Dr. Augustine Pinto and Managing Director Madam Grace Pinto. This was yet another attempt to provide such a unique opportunity to their students to meet & interact with their role models. Madam Grace Pinto said "It is very important for the students to learn from the experience of successful personalities and their journey to the pinnacles of success.  I am sure the session with Steve Waugh and Milton will go a long way in strengthening the passion of our students, to translate their dreams into reality".

It was not only a great experience for the regular Ryanites, but also for the underprivileged and orphan children studying in the Ryan Anubhav Schools to have their dream come true as they closely interacted with the great Cricket Legend.  From the nuances of cricket to the discussion of the autobiography - "of my own comfort zone", to the present World Cup 2007. One of the questions put across by a Ryanite was whether Sachin should retire, to which Steve replied that it is entirely Sachin's decision and we should leave it that way. When asked who would win the World cup, he replied that the team who performs well in the second semi-final between Australia and South Africa, stands a very good chance. The students could not stop asking questions and Steve was very encouraging in answering them without any hindrances, with him finally complimenting the students for asking "smart" questions. Indeed a very interactive session, Steve Waugh also moved around the school campus and also encouraged the budding Ryan cricketers guiding them briefly on their batting stances and bowling actions. Steve was amazed by the enthusiasm of Ryanites and was impressed with the good work being done by the Group for all the sections of the society.
