Core Projects bags Rs 124 crore order from Gujarat govt

Education solutions provider Core Projects and Technologies Ltd today said it has bagged a contract worth Rs 124 crore from Gujarat government for the
computer-aided learning (CAL) programme to be implemented in
primary schools.

"Core has bagged its second largest contract from Gujarat Government to implement CAL in 3,236 primary schools in Gujarat for Rs 124 crore," the firm said in a statement issued here.

The company has its presence in 645 schools in Gujarat via the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) contract. Core Projects had also bagged similar CAL and ICT contracts for 2,622 schools in Haryana, 1,250 in Punjab, 947 in Maharashtra, 267 in Meghalaya, and 73 schools in Nagaland.

"We are happy to partner (with) the Gujarat Government in this prestigious project and are confident that the primary school children will be able to get a strong foundation, which will go a long way in building a globally competitive India," Core Projects and Technologies Chairman and Global CEO Sanjeev
Mansotra said.

The project is expected to generate over 3,250 jobs and will cover five districts--Surat, Vadodara, Dahod, Baruch and Narmada. The leading global education provider in India is already working in Gujarat on several fronts for skill development initiatives, it said.
