The Competition Appellate Tribunal will begin rehearing DLF's appeal against the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) Rs 630 crore penalty order tomorrow.
The COMPAT will also take up an application filed by DLF seeking clarity on the status of the cease and desist order that had been passed by CCI last year. Daily hearings of this case had stopped this May after the retirement of the then COMPAT Chairman Justice Arijit Pasayat. On August 12 last year, CCI had imposed a penalty of Rs 630 crore on DLF after finding the realty major guilty of abuse of the dominant market position.
The orders were passed following inquiries into complaints filed by the flat buyer associations' of two separate DLF projects in Gurgaon, DLF Park Palace and DLF has filed an application seeking a clarification on tribunal's order of November 9 last year staying CCI's Rs 630 crore penalty on DLF for abuse of dominant market position.
