SoftBank plans to sell 25% stake in ARM Holdings to vision fund: Report

SoftBank will get around USD 8 billion for its stake sale, sources said. This transaction will be separate from the USD 25 billion the company plans to contribute to Vision Fund one of the sources said.

Japanese giant SoftBank Group looks to sell 25 percent of its stake in ARM Holdings to a technology fund it is creating with Saudi Arabia, reports the Economic Times.

This comes after lead investors expressed a desire to include the chipmaker in their portfolio, sources privy to the development told the newspaper.

SoftBank will get around USD 8 billion for its stake sale, sources said. This transaction will be separate from the USD 25 billion the company plans to contribute to Vision Fund one of the sources said.

ARM was acquired by SoftBank for USD 32 billion in September.

Masayoshi Son, founder of SoftBank is creating a USD 100 billion fund with Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi investor Mubadala Development and others.
