Cement prices have corrected by a mere Rs 5 per bag since demonetisation, says Madhusudan Shah, President, Cement Stockists and Dealers Association of Bombay. The effect has been minimal as most cement transactions are made on a credit basis in Mumbai.
While wholesale segment sales remain the same, retail sales have slumped by 25-30 percent post the cash ban, says Shah. But retail only accounts for 15 percent of total cement sales.
Sales will come back to normal in the next 1-2 months, he adds.
