Aluminium prices are up 20 percent year on year. In today’s Chinese gross domestic product (GDP) data, aluminium production numbers were up 7.4 percent in June which is believed to be a record.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, TK Chand, CMD at National Aluminium Company (NALCO) spoke about the same.
China has commissioned 3.9 million tonne (mt) low cost capacity, their consumption is also increasing in construction and other sectors, he said.
Q1FY18 average aluminium price is at USD 1,910 per tonne but we expect prices to fluctuate in the band of USD 1870-1925 per tonne, he added.For full interview, watch accompanying video...
