After a slight recovery in its operations, Air India’s expansion story has once again hit a financial roadblock.
Sources have told CNBC-TV18 that Air India has sent a second request to the government for second round of funding in form of equity infusion to aid its expansion plans.
It has asked for infusion of about Rs 2,188 crore, as per sources.
Earlier, the national carrier had asked for Rs 3,901 crore from the government, but was allocated Rs 1,713 crore for FY17. The government had green signaled the airline’s revival plan in 2012.
