After 4G, India is betting big on 5G. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) chairman RS Sharma is hoping that telecom operators will make themselves ready as and when the 5G standards get finalised.
Speaking from the Mobile World Congress in Barcelone, Sharma said: “Gap between India and the world in terms of technology is shrinking.”
5G has lot of promises for a country like India. It can be deployed for a variety of purposes like applications, smart cities, smart lighting, transport and agriculture, he said.
