Companies CAG named that got undue favours from the Centre

Yesterday, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) presented three reports in Parliament charging the government for allotting coalfields and land for power projects to 25 companies in aviation, coal and power space at a fraction of a market price. This ad-hoc policy which caused losses of around Rs 3.84 crore to the exchequer has once again brought back the corruption issue under spotlight. Also, the reports have caught the government at an awkward time as it wrestles with a slowing economy, rising prices and growing public disenchantment.
