Tata Power has also been named in the CAG report for getting coal blocks without competitive bidding. However, post the CAG report going public, Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata during the annual general meeting of the company remarked that problems pertaining to land and coal availability pose a challenge for the power sector, making it difficult to provide electricity at affordable rates.
