It's that time of the year again - time for India Inc to be applauded for all the vision, passion and perseverance it has shown in the past year. It's time for the 3rd edition of the CNBC-TV18 India business leader award. Except this year we bring you a reloaded version…
A year ago, on a crisp December evening in Mumbai, a few of India Inc's best and brightest were hailed for their outstanding performance in 2006.
Come December and CNBC-TV18's India Business Leader Awards will be back - bigger & better, because this year the roll of honour has some interesting additions.
They went, they saw and they conquered…Indian companies, big and small went on an M&A overdrive these last 12 months. Almost 500 overseas acquisitions valued at over 20 billion dollars. Bridging cultures, acquiring size and geographical presence, beating off global competitors …
CNBC-TV18 thought it only fit to raise a toast to these brave explorers for taking India abroad.
Every year we award leaders for their vision, ability to take risk and their skills in building the enterprise of the future.
But the enterprise itself also deserves recognition. Because teamwork is the hallmark of excellence. Only when thousands of employees buy into one single vision and work towards one goal, are winning enterprises born.
And such outstanding companies deserve applause.
The 90s were consumed by an unerring focus on manufacturing quality, this decade belongs to globalisation and the future lies in being a responsible global citizen. Tomorrow's corporations will not be recognised by bottomline alone…they will be judged by responsible manufacturing practices and a culture that encourages preservation and sustainability. To encourage India Inc to be more environmentally responsible CNBC-TV18 has constituted the green award that will be given out, starting 2008.
11 awards, 11 winners - like we said at the beginning - get ready for the CNBC-TV18 India Business Leader Awards - bigger and better.
