It was the night for the biggest business award of the country. Amongst the one lakh SMEs, the brightest stars won the Emerging India Awards from the Prime Minister.
The CNBC-TV18 Emerging India Awards that honour the best small and medium enterprises in India every year, took place on June 22, 2007 at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai.
Present at the function were - Chief Guest for the evening - Honourable Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and others like Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, ICICI Bank MD & CEO KV Kamath, etc.
The 'SME of the Year' award was bagged by Speck Systems.
The others who got the awards in the respective categories were as under:
IndoAsian Fusegear got the award in the 'Auto, Auto Ancillaries & Engg' category.
In the 'FMCG, Food & Agri-Biz' category, Freshtrop Fruits, bagged the award.
Speck Systems, which bagged the 'SME of the Year' award, bagged yet another award in the "Non-retail Traders & Others' category.
In the 'Gems & Jewellery' category, Kama Jewellery bagged the award.
Venus Remedies bagged the award in the 'Pharma & Chemicals' category.
In the 'Retail Trade' category, Today's Writing Products bagged the award.
Indus Fila bagged the 'Textile & Apparel' category.
In the 'Travel & Tourism' category, Diana Hotels bagged the award.
Value Labs bagged the award in the 'ICE & ITeS' category.
In the 'Infrastruture' category, Techpro Systems bagged the award.
The 'Small Enterprise of the Year' was bagged by Mother's Pride Education Persona.
The 'Women Entrepreneur Of The Year' award went to Uma R Javeri from S Zhaveri & Co.
