The new Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) engine plant is coming up fast in Wolverhampton (UK), and promises to breathe new life into the JLR production line, into Tata Motors - and into Wolverhampton itself, and its Indian community.
The new JLR plant is coming up on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, about 100 miles north of London. A new generation of engines to be developed here is expected to power JLR into stronger sales.
Arun Photay, Councillor says: “We are just on the outskirts of Wolverhampton…the Indian community here are very proud.”
Wolverhampton MP Paul Uppal sees more than just pride here. He sees jobs for Wolverhampton people in the plant, and even more, through support businesses.
"For every job JLR is directly creating, we will see three to five jobs more in Wolverhampton," Uppal believes.
