The Delhi High Court today dismissed the Department of Telecom (DoT)'s plea in the 3G intra-circle roaming case. The court has adjudged TDSAT has jurisdiction to hear the case. CNBC-TV18's Malvika Jain reports.
This has come as a breather for the telecom companies because if the High Court had vacated this stay on the 3G intra-circle roaming pacts, then it would heave meant that the telecom companies like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and others would have had to stop offering 3G intra-circle roaming services.
The court upheld the TDSAT say that it has jurisdiction in the matter. It said DoT can approach the Supreme Court if it is unhappy with what TDSAT passes as the final order.
Telcos can continue to offer 3G services as per the pacts until and unless the TDSAT passes an order in that regard.
