Cleartrip, India's leading travel portal, announced the launch of its international products, which will offer the most competitive international airfares and hotel tariffs available in the Indian market. For the first time ever a travel portal has reached out to its customers and engaged them in designing a product that meets their needs.
To understand customer needs and design a product fulfilling their requirements, Cleartrip conducted a survey to study their overseas traveling pattern. This revealed that over 80% of the customers travel overseas at least 3 times a year and that price followed by flight timings, were the most important factors in planning their trip. Cleartrip designed its International Travel Product with a unique search mechanism, which scours the alternatives to offer flight combinations that will deliver more competitive price points.
“Cleartrip’s products have always embodied simplicity, elegance and sophistication and our new flight search raises the bar. We’re using the world’s most sophisticated search algorithms to ensure that customers have access to the widest selection of affordable flights. With hundreds of flights to choose from, Cleartrip gives customers complete control, empowering them to slice and dice results any way they like, making it simple to pick the perfect flight “stated Hrush Bhatt, Founder and Director- Product & Strategy
International bookings can be made on Cleartrip where customers can choose from the largest selection of direct and indirect flights to any destination from India. Customers can choose from over 55,000 international hotels across 300+countries This would be available on an interface that offers high level of customization to tailor search results using various parameters like airlines, number of stops, lay over airports & duration, price, departure time, return time, etc. Customers can also sort results on the basis of price, airlines, stops, departure timings and arrival timings.
Three unique features that have been incorporated are; the flexibility to book same day returns (ideal for trips to Dubai and the near East), the facility to make last minute bookings just 2 days prior to departure (others offer 4 days min.) and the ability to book more passengers in a single transaction (Cleartrip offers 9 and other OTAs allow up to 6). These features were rated as highly important to Cleartrip customers in the survey that was conducted.
Cleartrip has also responded to customer’s requests for multiple methods of payment. Customers will soon be able to make part payment using their credit cards and the remaining payment using any of the following options - EMI, Cheque, Bank Draft, Bank Transfer, another Credit Card, Debit Card or Cash.
