Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in cooperation with the Worldwide Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva initiated capability building in senior executives in Strategic Intellectual Property Management in India. The initiative is kicked off with an Executive Program - Strategic Intellectual Property Management - in Goa (India), from March 11 to 13, 2007.
This initiative will examine the proactive management of intellectual property (IP) assets in the global market place. It is first of its kind Initiative in India.
The Goa programme will be conducted by contemporary leaders and practitioners who will provide valuable insight on creating value and sustaining competitive advantage in the knowledge economy. The faculty are James Conley - Professor, Kellogg School of Management, Chicago, Tony Hadjiloucas - Director, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, London and Mats Parup - Head of Corporate Intellectual Property, Novartis, Basel
The participants come from the senior and executive level from business organizations, R & D institutions and the IP legal community from USA, Malaysia, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Zambia, Trinidad & Tobago, India, Pakistan, Australia, Portugal, Sri Lanka & Kenya.
Shri. Ajay Dua, Secretary, Department of Industry Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Govt. of India & Mr. Narender Sabharwal, Deputy Director General, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Geneva, have kindly consented to grace the Occasion.
This initiative is expected to open up several such capability building measures in Intellectual Property in the country
