![]() CII Mining Mission to visit AustraliaPublished on Fri, Sep 07, 2007 at 18:07 | Source : Moneycontrol.com Updated at Fri, Sep 07, 2007 at 18:50 A 44-member CII Mining Mission would be visiting Australia from 2nd to 8th September 2007 coinciding with AIMEX 2007 - the largest International Mining Exhibition at Sydney. AIMEX is one of world's largest mining exhibition which would showcase the latest technology in mining, innovative products and technical solutions to both the domestic and international mining industries. The delegation would be led by Mr. Partha S. Bhattacharyya, Chairman, Coal India Ltd. The visit of Indian Mining Mission is organized in collaboration with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade). The delegation comprises senior officials from Coal India Ltd. & its subsidiaries, Essel Mining, Tata Steel , Essar Power, BEML , Abhijeet Group, Hindustan Copper, Bhilai Engg, Gujarat NRE Coke , Emami Group, SREI, GMMCO, Balaji Coke, etc. The objectives of the Indian Mining Mission are (a) to explore business opportunities for the Indian companies in the mining sector of Australia, (b) to promote Indian mining and mining equipment industry, (c) to identify new emerging technologies and possible areas of cooperation, (d) to interact with the concerned government officials in Australia for cooperation in the development of mining sector for mutual benefit (e) to present India's capacity and capabilities in mining and mining equipment sector (f) to participate in the India Networking Session in Mining, and (g) to visit leading mines in Australia. CII National Committee on Mining is organizing India Networking Session on Mining on 5th September at the AIMEX exhibition venue which would be participated by over 100 delegates from Australia and other countries. The Session would project the strength of Indian Mining & Mining Equipment industry and opportunities for cooperation with other countries. The India Networking Session on Mining would be sponsored by Austmine and Abhijeet Group. The Mission itinerary includes visit to two leading coal mines in Australia -Mt. Artheur Coal Pty Ltd (operated by BHP Billiton) and Mt. Owen Mine, (owned by Xstrata). Members of the delegation would visit AIMEX and attend a series of meetings and one to one sessions at the exhibition venue. A gala Cocktails / Dinner will be hosted by Mr. Arun Jagatramka, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd.on 6th September. The Dinner would be attended by a large number of senior officials from the leading mining companies and equipment manufacturers from Australia and other countries.
