Due to huge consumer demand in the personal care industry, Chinese personal care ingredients (PCI) industry is considered to have considerable growth potential. Though the hike in crude oil prices is likely to block its advance to some extent, a shrewd marketing policy focusing on service and innovation is possible to help suppliers overcome difficulty and expand their market share.

New analysis from Frost & Sullivan (http://www.chemicals.frost.com), Chinese Personal Care Ingredients Markets - End-user Survey, reveals that the market earned revenues of $355.8 million in 2005 and estimates to reach $702.2 million in 2012.

"The growth of the PCI market is directly linked to the increased consumption of personal care products," says Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Julia Zhu. "The personal care product industry is likely to boom in next several years, and its sales turnover rise will catalyze a PCI revenue increase."

Due to the increase of living standard and media guide, growing number of consumers are buying the concept of a personal care product. The market is not likely to reach saturation in the near future - and the market in towns and rural areas is forecast to have huge growth potential.
