Centurion Bank of Punjab today announced the launch of 'SmartRemit - Gulf', a customer friendly remittance option to help NRI clients based in UAE to remit funds in a smooth, fast, efficient and yet economical manner, to their accounts with the Bank.

 

Centurion Bank of Punjab has entered into Remittance Agreement with leading exchange houses in the UAE such as UAE Exchange Centre LLC and Alukkas Exchange. One of the salient features of this arrangement is that it facilitates NRI clients of Centurion Bank of Punjab to remit funds from any branch of these exchange houses based anywhere in the UAE to their accounts with any branch of CBoP across India within one working day. Additionally, NRIs could also utilize this channel to remit funds to the accounts of their family members maintained with any branch of CBoP across India. They can even remit funds through this mode, for placing under NRE / FCNR Deposits with the bank.

 

Commenting on the launch Mr. Harpreet Singh, Business Director - Wealth Management, Distribution & Loans said, "Centurion Bank of Punjab has always believed in providing the best services for our customers all across the globe. We recently launched this service for the convenience of our UAE customers. We are happy to inform that our Bank is also in discussion with other leading exchange houses across GCC to extend SmartRemit - Gulf to other countries in the region such as Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. We will be soon launching 'SmartRemit - AsiaPacific' to cater to NRIs based in Singapore, Malaysia and Hongkong."
