Prices in Kanpur and Lucknow are likely to increase to Rs 305-310 per bag. South-based companies are getting trade inquiries from MP, UP and Bihar. Transport costs too, CNBC-TV18 learns, may hinder inter-regional movement.
Experts say that the prices are likely to decline post May 2010 due to increased production. "The demand is likely to be sluggish in the second quarter of FY11 due to monsoons," they add.
