The Competition Commission of India has initiated an enquiry against synthetic fibre manufacturing companies for forming a cartel. The CCI's Director General of Investigation is probing 18 textile companies including Bombay Dyeing , Century Rayon, Grasim Industries and Modipon .
It has been alleged that these companies have divided the synthetic fibre market amongst themselves and dictate terms to suppliers by misusing their dominant position.
