The Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA) will take up a recent proposal to tweak foreign direct investment (FDI) approval norms on February 11, CNBC-TV18 reports quoting sources.

Sources say if the proposal - aimed at easing inflows into India - goes through, a CCEA nod will now be a must only for FDI above Rs 1,200 crore as opposed to Rs 600 crore currently.

It is also learnt that no fresh approval from the CCEA or the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) would be need for automatic/non-cap sectors, if the proposal goes through.
