CARE Group of Hospitals, the fourth largest healthcare provider in the country, today announced its plans to commission a 110-bed multi-specialty centre in Surat. The group invested Rs 25 crores in the hospital located near Athwa Gate Circle that will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi on May 15th.
The state-of-the-art Surat centre will be equipped to handle comprehensive cardiac services, including catheterization procedures, cardiac surgeries and other specialized treatments. The focus will also be on cardiology, cardiac surgery, critical care, general medicine and other specialties like gastroenterology, laparoscopic surgery, nephrology & urology, neurosurgery will be added in a couple of months time. For the first time in Surat, CARE Hospital will provide advanced cardiac thoracic (CTOT) surgery operation theaters.
Speaking to the media at a press conference today, Mr. L V Rajendra Kumar, Chief of Business Development, CARE Group of Hospitals said, ``Launch of CARE Hospital in Surat is part of our vision to provide quality healthcare in every region of the country. The hospital with its vast experience in cardiac care will bring international quality treatment at affordable cost to people of South Gujarat who usually travel to Mumbai for heart check-ups.’’
To pursue the Group’s mission and achieve its objectives the hospital consists of 43 intensive care beds, four emergency care management beds, five-bedded dialysis unit, 24-hrs Radiology, Pathology and emergency services supported by information and bio medical departments.
Future plans
As a part of its expansion plans, CARE Hospitals will extend its footprint across the country by setting up new state-of-art hospitals in newer territories. The Group’s vision for the next decade is – 10,000 beds running on the core ideology of: “Patient first above our own interests” and the core purpose of “practicing medicine the way it should be.”

CARE which adopts the rapid changes in modern technology has very active academic & research programs to make it an Institution in its true sense. It also offers graduate, post-graduate and post-doctoral courses in collaboration with National Boards and Universities, for medical, nursing, paramedical and healthcare management students. The unit will be connected with other units to provide tele-medicine services, e-learning tools, hospital information system and electronic medical records.
