With the Budget around the corner, Som Mittal, president of NASSCOM says, he is ready to present NASSCOM's demands to the government which includes removal of MAT on SEZs and simplification of tax strategies.
India's largest technology event, the NASSCOM leadership forum begins tomorrow. The forum will be attended by delegates of upto 25 countries and over 400 companies. Not to forget almost every IT vendor in India.
With the Budget around the corner, Som Mittal, president of NASSCOM says, he is ready to present NASSCOM's demands to the government which includes removal of minimum alternate tax (MAT) on SEZs and simplification of tax strategies.
Mittal says, "We need the government to ensure that we have a positive business environment. It is necessary for the government to give a message that India is in business, our policies and tax regime are consistent. Last year, we introduced MAT on SEZ. I think it gave a very wrong signal. I hope that this year the FM would remove the MAT."
