BSNL reduces ILD tariffs for Sri Lanka & Middle East

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) subscribers will have the cheaper tariffs to Sri Lanka and Middle East countries w.e.f. October 1, 2006.

BSNL the largest telecom service provider of India has reduced its International Long Distance tariffs for Sri Lanka by 40% and Middle East countries like Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Oman and Qatar by 20%. The tariffs have been reduced to offer customers a good choice and to be ahead of competition. The sector of Sri Lanka and Middle East countries have the maximum call traffic from India.

As per the new tariffs for Sri Lanka the pulse rate has been changed to 6 sec to 10 sec and the charges have been reduced to Rs 7.2/min as against existing Rs 12/min. For Middle East countries like Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Oman & Qatar the rates have been reduced from Rs 12/min to Rs 9.6/min and pulse rate has been increased from existing 6 sec to 7.5 seconds.

The revised rates will apply to all calls originated from Fixed, Cellular and WLL (M) phones of BSNL and also applicable to Trunk Calls and PCO's as well.
