Brazil's Petrobras has offered to enter into a long-term ethanol contract with India. The government is also mulling mandating PSU companies to buy sugar, ethanol assets in Brazil, reports CNBC-TV18.

 

Brazil is the largest producer of ethanol.The government is considering waiving all or part of the excise duties on ethanol-blended petrol.

 

It is also mulling promoting ethanol from sources other than molasses. PSU oil companies will start ethanol blended petrol from November.
