B.M.Birla Heart Research Centre (BMBHRC) - India’s 1st and Eastern India’s only NABH (mark of quality) accredited hospital is synonymous with quality heartcare. Some of the recent awards won by BMBHRC testify this.
It has been, last week, conferred the Commendation Certificate in the Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award 2007. A trophy and a cheque of Rs.50000 were received by COO, Mr.Suyash Borar and MD, Dr. Anil Mishra.
Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award is given to an organization for making significant improvement in quality, for maximizing consumer satisfaction and for successfully facing competition in the global market. The award was established in 1991 to give special recognition to manufacturing and service sector organizations; considerd to be leaders of quality movement in India.It is given annually by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
B.M.B.H.R.C has also recently received the ‘Express Healthcare Excellence Award' (held on 28th March 08 in Mumbai) for “Inspirational Workplace” category.
Healthcare sector in India is booming and is contributing about 5% of the GDP. India has made a niche in healthcare in the global scenario, attracting patients from all across the world.
West Bengal is also not left behind Our country as well as our state is facing the problem of ‘brain drain’ as more and more skilled manpower is venturing overseas or outside the state for greener pastures.
Mr. M. L. Pachisia, Member Governing Body BMBHRC commented, “Slowly the working atmosphere of Bengal is changing because of open economy, foreign and private investments and competition in every sector. It is reinstated by BMBHRC receiving these awards which is also a burning example of a resurgent Bengal”.
