The Cyclathon, as the name suggests was an innovative and fun mode of creating awareness to the Stations large youth listener base on the role that each of us can play in reducing pollution levels and making our cities a cleaner and greener place to live in.

The on air promotions led to participation in huge numbers, where people from across the city came together, bicycles in tow and cycled their way through the Cyclathon venue. Enthusiasts were seen dressed in fun attires that clearly reflected the cause for the Cyclathon - towards create a cleaner and greener environment. While the Kolkata Station could not host the on-ground event due to the state bandh, it was played up innovatively on air with as much fun and fervor.

The event was flagged off by actor Karthik Kumar of Kanda Naal Mudhal fame along with RJ BIG Balaji and Bosskey who hosts "Overtake" show in BIG 92.7 FM Chennai along with Kirti Azad - MP & Ex- Indian Cricketer and Dr. R K Suri - Additional Director - Ministry of Environment minister and RJ Sujatha in Delhi along with actress Duniya Rashmi with Nagakiran and RJ Harsha in Bangalore along with Dr. CVSK Sarma, Commissioner- GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) and RJ Shekar in Hyderabad along with RJ Rohit and RJ Rishi in Mumbai. To ensure adequate medical support to the cyclists, a full fledged medical team of experts accompanied participants through the Cyclathon. At the end of the Cyclathon, one lucky participant won a brand new bicycle as a gesture of appreciation.

The on-air promotions for the event began a week in advance with RJ's providing environmental tips and inviting listeners to participate in this rally. BIG 92.7 FM also gave away 14 bicycles on air to lucky listeners on the 5th of June as part of its initiative to promote the cause which was sponsored by TI Cycles. The event culminated with the on ground event amid much fun and frenzy, which sure caused a great stir among not just the participants, but bystanders and onlookers who were as influenced and appreciative of the initative.
