Speaking about the 3G-spectrum allotment in the key circles of Mumbai and Delhi, Akhil Gupta , MD, Bharti Enterprises does not expect unreasonable bidding for the 3G- spectrum and said that plenty of slots in the 3G- spectrum appear to be available. He sees aggressive bidding in Delhi and Mumbai. He added that he would be bidding for the 3G- spectrum in all 22 circles.

Gupta said, "Delhi and Mumbai are definitely crucial markets but right now one doesn't know how much would be available for Delhi; how much slots will be available. It's difficult to say at this stage. I guess one needs to wait and see how much of spectrum is been released for Delhi and Mumbai. But no doubt Delhi and Mumbai are key markets and would see perhaps a little more competition than the other circles.

Gupta expects the government to maintain a level playing field with regards to BSNL and  MTNL for the Spectrum and awaits clarity from DoT (Department of Telecom) on the  availability of the 3G- spectrum in Delhi and Mumbai. He further said that he would roll out 3G services in major cities in 2-3 months post the spectrum allotment.
