BEML wins Rs 318 crore order for Jaipur Metro project

BEML has won an order worth Rs 318 crore for the Metro rail project in Jaipur. The public sector company will supply 10 train sets of four cars each, totaling 40 cars for the project, it said on Tuesday.

BEML has won an order worth Rs 318 crore for the Metro rail project in Jaipur. The public sector company will supply 10 train sets of four cars each, totaling 40 cars for the project, it said on Tuesday.

It is also expecting further Rs 60 crore worth of orders for the Jaipur Metro project.

BEML already supplies carriages to the Delhi Metro and Bangalore Metro Rail Corp. The company said it is in the process of designing and developing affordable metro cars for upcoming projects in tier-II cities.

BEML, which also supplies equipment to defense, aerospace, mining and construction sectors, currently has an order book over Rs 6,000 crore and expects turnover of Rs 4,300 crore this fiscal. It sees revenue of Rs 5,000 crore in 2013-14 [April-March].

BEML reported net sales of Rs 2,630.37 crore in 2010-11. In the first half of this fiscal, it had net sales of Rs 1,346.38 crore.

BEML shares were trading down about 1% at Rs 458.15 on NSE in morning trade.
