BBC Worldwide Productions USA, based in Los Angeles has begun 2007 by appointing an impressive team of talent to achieve its ambitious growth strategy. The newly assigned executives, who will all report to head of the Los Angeles base Paul Telegdy, SVP Programming & Production are:
Linda Giambrone: VP Production
John Hesling: VP Creative Affairs
Ian Moffitt: VP Programming and Content Strategy
Alice Taylor: VP Digital Content
“These appointments are a further demonstration of our absolute commitment to create and deliver innovative shows to US networks” commented Telegdy. “Over the past two years we have firmly established ourselves as a creative and highly skilled force in television production and now is exactly the right time to take our capabilities to the next level. Recent events have shown there is an incredible thirst for British programming at the moment and we plan to capitalize on that. We now have absolutely the right team of people in place to enable us to do it.”
John Hesling, VP Creative Affairs will be tasked with recognizing and developing new creative opportunities from both the BBC and Independent sector as well as creating original concepts in line with network needs. John brings with him a wealth of experience in this field most recently in the US market whilst running BBC Entertainment USA in New York and executive producing US versions of Honey We’re Killing The Kids and One Week to Save Your Marriage for DCI. Hesling first joined the BBC in 1999 after starting his career in the independent sector, and after producing several international documentary series for the BBC moved into entertainment. He developed, series produced and directed the first two seasons of the award winning Dragons Den for BBC2 (Banff Festival winner, Bafta and Rose D'or nominated) as well as developing and producing other entertainment series including Crisis Command: Could You Run The Country.
Linda Giambrone, VP Production has worked with BBC Worldwide Productions since its inception in 2005. Linda has been instrumental in building the production expertise of the teams that have produced the last three series of Dancing With The Stars for ABC and Grease: You’re The One That I Want for NBC. In her new role Linda will oversee production of the businesses entire slate of reality and gameshow titles both in development and once commissioned. Prior to working with BBC Worldwide Productions, Linda amassed extensive production credentials producing a range of big primetime variety specials, talk shows, game shows and news across the board of major networks gaining both primetime and daytime Emmy nominations. Shows included The Happy Days Reunion Show, The Dallas Reunion Show and Hollywood Squares. Linda began her television career at ABC News.
