Ian Moffitt, VP Programming & Content Strategy has been tasked with managing business development and strategy across BBC Worldwide Productions partnerships with UK producers both within the BBC and Independent production sector, with a responsibility to grow network and cable production in the US. Prior to his appointment at BBC Worldwide, Ian headed Transcend, the international rights exploitation joint venture between Endeavor and IMG. This preceded his employment at independent distributor Target Entertainment where he secured the international program rights including MTV’s Next and VH1’s Flava of Love and Surreal Life. Previous to this Ian was Business Development Manager at branding specialists Red Pepper before moving to Tiger Aspect to perform a similar role. Ian started his TV career with Carlton.
Alice Taylor, VP Digital Content will be driving BBC Worldwide Productions Internet, mobile and gaming ambitions. Through having worked directly to Ashley Highfield, the BBC’s Director, Future Media & Technology she is ideally placed to recognise and capitalise on opportunities in the US. Alice will use her knowledge of interactive content advancements in the UK to develop ideas that are transferable to US networks. Previous to the BBC, Alice was the co-founder and Director of the software company Stor, which created Stortroopers (www.stortroopers.com) and other web-based community tools for clients such as Warner Bros. Stor also produced over 300 live celebrity web events for the UK’s Channel 4 Television and Capital Radio. Previous to Stor, Alice worked at London’s Onlinemagic (now Agency.com London), producing websites for clients, including the DTI, Shelter, BMG Interactive, GTInteractive and the Ministry Of Sound.
BBC Worldwide Productions USA, was the first international local production base to be established by BBC Worldwide’s Content & Production business, headed by Wayne Garvie. The business has achieved great success since its inception in 2005. It will shortly begin the forth production of ratings smash Dancing With The Stars for ABC, whilst simultaneously producing Grease: You’re The One That I Want, for NBC. The business has also been successful in gaining pilot commissions for three scripted pilots: Viva Laughlin (CBS), The Thick Of It (ABC) and I’m With Stupid (NBC).
