Banks need to buffer their capital base and upgrade risk management systems, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor said on Wednesday.
"Buffering the capital base of banks is obviously a standard and much needed response to risk management," Reserve Bank of India Governor Duvvuri Subbarao said at a business conference.
