Bank of India plans 130 branches this fiscal

Mr Narayanaswamy said BOI's 3,000th branch would be opened at Sriperumbudur soon. Over 2,000 branches have already been hooked to the CBS platform.

"We plan to bring the entire network under core banking solution by June 2009," he said.

Global expansion

The bank has 28 overseas branches including representative offices across the globe.

On expansion of its global branch network, he said that due to the economic turmoil, opening branches outside the country was going slow.
