Bajaj Auto to position small car as intra-city car

Speaking at the press conference, Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto said that the small car is not a one-lakh car and it aims to make the small car most fuel-efficient on Indian roads. Bajaj added that the small car will be available in petrol and diesel variants. The small car will have twin-cylinder engine and will be positioned as an intra-city car.

Bajaj Auto will launch three new bikes in 2008, reports CNBC-TV18. It will launch XCD DTSi Sprint, Discover 150 and Blade DTSi this year. The management of Bajaj Auto said that they will rollout the small car in 2009.

Speaking at the press conference, Rajiv Bajaj , MD, Bajaj Auto said that the small car is not a one-lakh car and it aims to make the small car most fuel-efficient on Indian roads. Bajaj added that the small car will be available in petrol and diesel variants. The small car will have twin-cylinder engine and will be positioned as an intra-city car.  It is yet to decide equity stake in Renault and Nissan car JV.
