Aviva Life Insurance Company India Ltd., today announced the appointment of Ms Monica Agrawal, as Director – Corporate Initiatives. Based in New Delhi, Ms Agrawal will report directly to Mr Bert Paterson, Managing Director & CEO, Aviva India.
In this new role, Ms Agrawal will be responsible for implementing a wide range of high impact strategic and business initiatives and work with the leadership team in strengthening the Aviva business in India. Ms Agrawal brings to the company a rich experience in sales & services with a proven track record in designing premium strategy, customer focused initiatives, working with diverse groups and launching new products.
Speaking on the new appointment , Mr Paterson said, “I am delighted to have someone of Monica’s calibre join our leadership team. Her vast experience in customer focused initiatives and keen sense of business appreciation will be an invaluable asset to Aviva. I am certain that the appointment of Monica will take Aviva to greater heights.”
Monica brings her rich experience, of close to 14 years to Aviva. Prior to joining Aviva,she headed Strategic Alliances for MasterCard in South Asia. She was responsible for business development and co-brand alliances. She also engineered successful co-branded programs and partnerships with brands and merchants across diverse sectors such as airlines (e.g. Jet Airways), hotels (e.g. Oberoi Hotels), retail (e.g. Shopper’s Stop), oil & gas (e.g. BPCL), media (e.g. Times of India) and telecom (e.g. Airtel).
Ms Agrawal was also the Secretary of the India Cards Council, the de-facto industry association of MasterCard customer banks in India. She also led MasterCard’s Public Policy initiatives in India.
She started her career in 1993 with a Unilever group company, moved to Bennett, Coleman and Co. in 1994 and then HSBC bank where she worked for over 4 years in various capacities including Head of Sales for North India.
