Aviva Life Insurance India Ltd., today announced the appointment of Mr Vishal Gupta as Associate Director - Marketing. Based in New Delhi, Mr Gupta will report directly to Mr Bert Paterson, Manging Director & CEO, Aviva Life Insurance. Mr Gupta, who had joined Aviva Life in 2005, now takes over from Mr Vivek Khanna, Director-Marketing. In this new role, Mr Gupta will be responsible for the entire range of marketing functions with specific focus on strengthening the Aviva brand in India. Mr Gupta brings to the firm rich experience across various functions such as sales, media, market research, advertising and marketing. Speaking on the new appointment, Bert Paterson said, "Vishal has been associated with Aviva for more than three years and has played an important role in integrating the direct sales force and marketing function as well as developing our customer acquisition strategy. Vishal has been successful in launching various product campaigns, enhanced brand awareness as well as built innovative techniques to facilitate business growth. I am certain that the appointment of Vishal will take Aviva to greater heights." He added, "This is yet another example of promoting and giving opportunity to internal talent at Aviva." Vishal brings with him rich experience of close to 11 years and has over 5 years experience with the Unilever Group's Indian subsidiary, Hindustan Lever Limited ( HUL ). Here he was responsible for building the Lux brand in India. Vishal has also worked with Asian Paints for 3 years.
