Pharma major AstraZeneca has new plans for India. Louis Schweitzer, AstraZeneca's Non-Executive Chairman has said that the company is expanding its R&D operations here to develop a new TB drug.

 

The process development research base will be set up with USD 15 million investment and it will be operational in a year. The new tuberculosis drug may be ready for development by 2010.

 

AstraZeneca is looking at 20% growth for the Indian subsidiary.
