The best field to ever compete on the domestic tour, comprising of Asian Tour tournament winners, former Indian Open champions and the greatest professionals on the domestic tour will form an elite line-up for the richest professional golf tournament in South India, the Rs. 60 Lakh Solaris Global Green Open, which will be played at the Bangalore Golf Club (BGC) from February 22-25, 2007. The tournament will also have the largest field to play in an Indian professional golf event with over 120 players expected to participate.

The 2003 Volkswagen Masters winner, Rahil Gangjee, 2002 Hero Honda Masters champion Harmeet Kahlon, Indian Tour Order of Merit winner Mukesh Kumar and 2002 Indian Open champion Vijay Kumar who has over 60 tournament victories on Indian soil to his credit will lead the local challenge. They will face tough competition from contemporaries like SSP Chowrasia, Digvijay Singh, Gurbaaz Mann, Uttam Singh Mundy, Ashok Kumar, Rafick Ali, Amritinder Singh, Rahul Ganapathy, Amardip Malik and local professionals S Madaiah and C Muniyappa.

"I am really looking forward to playing the Solaris Global Green Open as my game is good and the Bangalore Golf Club is a challenging layout. I am sure we will see lots of low scores and I will need to play some great golf to remain in contention," said SSP Chowrasia, who is in excellent form and is in contention for the Maybach Malaysian Open, which is currently underway on the Asian Tour.

Also vying for attention will be the current All-India amateur champion Himmat Singh Rai - the Solaris Global Green Open is his first professional event - and 2006 Asian Games Silver Medallists Gaganjeet Bhullar and Chiragh Kumar, rookies on the Asian and PGTI.

Meanwhile, the current PGTI Order of Merit leader Harmeet Kahlon is also looking forward to a good finish at the Solaris Global Green Open. "I am working hard on my game and hope to be in good form during the Solaris Global Green Open. It is one of the biggest tournaments on our calendar this season and a good finish here will help me to consolidate my standing in the Order of Merit," said Chandigarh's Harmeet Kahlon.
