A four-member team from Ashok Leyland has won the first prize at the prestigious All India Management Association (AIMA)'s 15th National Competition for Business Management Simulations held in New Delhi on Friday. The team will represent India at the Asia Pacific Finals to be held at Macau in October this year.
The team of young professionals (average age 26) drawn from the Finance, HR and Marketing functions - T Rajadurai, R Anandan, G Srihari, and S R S Rama Rao -topped the Southern Zone to make it to the top 10 teams to qualify for the Nationals, from among 108 contesting teams at regional levels.
AIMA's computer simulated game - Chanakya,, demands a team-based approach to encourage consensual decision-making under constraints of time, finances and information, with participants role-playing the CEO , the Directors of the Production, Marketing and Finance functions. According to AIMA, "Ever since we launched the National Management Games (NMG) in 1992, some of the country's most competitive and progressive organizations from both the public and private sector have regularly participated in these games".
