For the quarter ending June 2007, Aptech Limited, the Global Learning Solutions Company, posted an impressive Global System-wide booking of Rs.352.88 crores, registering a growth of 67% over the same quarter of the year 2006. The Profit before ESOP Compensation Cost and Tax stood at Rs.8.60 crores up 17 % from Q2 2006 (Rs. 7.32 crores).
The unaudited reviewed financial results were taken on record at the Board Meeting held in Mumbai.
Commenting on Aptech's performance, Mr. Pramod Khera, CEO & MD - Aptech Ltd., said "New product launches, extensive marketing campaigns and introduction of fortified products have contributed to our impressive booking growth this quarter. The increased expenditure for marketing & advertising in the quarter (8.25 crores vs. 3.19 crores) and the resultant pressure on the margins is in line with the business plan. This is part of our strategy to build a resurgent Aptech and the large order book position being built up will see better realizations in the coming quarters, as the income will accrue over a period of 12 to 18 months."
Highlights Q2 2007:
· International Expansion: Creating depth - 8 New Centres in existing geographies: Aptech Computer Education centres at Iran, Nigeria & Vietnam. Arena Animation centres at Mongolia, Jordan & Vietnam. 17 new centres signed up in H1-2007.
· China: Aptech Beida Jadebird wins China's 'Top 10 Outstanding Franchise Brand' Award, given by Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of China. Aptech is the only education company to get this award.
· Arena Animation: 8 new centres of Arena Animation launched in Q2 in India.
· Aptech Computer Education: Opened two company owned centres in Kolkata & Bangalore.
· Avalon Aviation Academy : 9 New centers added in the quarter, taking the total to 20 centres. Penetration in South & North, besides strengthening network in West.
· Global System wide Booking Growth : Domestic Retail - 82 %, International Retail : 53%
· New Product launches: N Power - Certified Hardware & Networking course launched across select centres this quarter. CompTIA Seminars to mark the launch in select cities.
· SSI JQ series launched to address the requirement for vendor certified courses.
· Upgraded courses: New Versions of the Power packed ACCP 2007 from Aptech Computer Education & AAASP 2007 & DAE 2007 from Arena Animation launched.
· Perspectives series of Animation Symposiums, conducted at Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata & Nasik, draw resounding response from audiences. Over 6,000 people attended these symposiums.
· Accolades :
Ranked amongst TOP 20 Global Companies in the Training Outsourcing Industry for the second consecutive year.
Lauded as the Global Guru by Dataquest, carving its place amongst top global IT training players.
· Aptech Learning Services, the learning content development arm of
Aptech, further penetrated into Europe successfully, while strengthening its relationship with its existing clients in other geographies. Established an R&D cell this quarter.
· ATTEST conducted close to 2, 00,000 assessments in Q2. It has conducted close to 4, 50,000 online assessments in H1 2007. It strengthened it's base in Academic vertical and consolidated it's leadership position in this segment.
