Reliance Jio has launched an official partnership with Apple right ahead of the launch of Apple's flagship iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in India today at 6 PM.
“Gives me great pleasure to introduce the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus on Jio,” said Akash Ambani, speaking a few hours ahead of the iPhone 8’s official launch in India in Mumbai.
Offers for customers under the iPhone 8-Jio partnership include a 70 percent buyback after 12 months on the iPhones bought with the Jio tariff plans.
The buyback means that after one year of the usage of the iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus, if one wants to upgrade to a new iPhone device, say iPhone 10, you will get a 70 percent of the buyback on the MRP of phone that you have purchased. Thus, the amount will be adjusted if you upgrade the model.
Or, if you dont want to use a iPhone after a year, you can return the phone and get about 70 percent of that amount in the form of discount vouchers, or coupons or products across Reliance Digital store as well.
To avail the buyback offer, customers will have to get themselves enrolled for an iPhone upgrade after 12 months.
As per a corporate release from Jio, "Reliance Digital will offer a special 70% buyback on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. This offer ensures that a customer, who opts for the MRP Rs 799 or higher Jio tariff plan would be eligible for 70% of the MRP as buyback amount on the return of the device after a year."

A post-paid monthly plan of Rs 799 is also being rolled out, that has the same specifics as the prepaid one, with validity as per Bill cycle.
Both the plans come with a 12 months contract.
A Rs 10,000 cashback can also be availed on purchase of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus on Citi cards on 29 September purchases.
Jio’s official website is allowing pre-booking of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus with the Jio offers at a price of Rs 1,999 for each phone.
The move will ensure those iPhone buyers stay as Jio customers paying monthly Rs 799 for next 12 months.
The iPhone X anniversary edition will be available from November 3, about two weeks after Diwali, when festive season sales typically peak.
iPhone pre-bookings can be done on Jio stores, Reliance Digital, MyJio app on Jio.com.
Steps to pre-book iPhone 8 and 8 Plus-
Visit Jio.com website and then select any of the available iPhone variants. After this, enter the pincode of where you want the delivery of the iPhone and select the quantity.
One has to then enter personal details like name, email ID and mobile number to make payment. After this, the customer will receive a pre-booking confirmation notification (email/SMS).
On the day of delivery, an email and SMS notification will be sent to customers with details of the store which one has to visit with the pre-booking confirmation and a copy of Aadhaar card. Upon paying the balance amount at the store, iPhone shall be handed over.
Home delivery option for the iPhone can also be availed. Reliance presently has not committed on any specific time-frame for the availability and delivery of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
Reliance is allowing pre-booking of one iPhone per mobile number. The iPhone 8 is scheduled to be launched on September 29 at 6 pm IST.
