Mahindra Gesco Developers Ltd. (MGDL), a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, today announced the elevation of Ms. Anita Arjundas as Chief Operating Officer of Mahindra Gesco Developers Ltd. Ms. Arjundas has played a significant role in developing Mahindra World City, Chennai as the preferred destination for corporates in her capacity as the COO of India's first Special Economic Zone (SEZ). She will be based out of Chennai and will report to Mr. Pawan Malhotra, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra Gesco.

 

Mr. Pawan Malhotra, said, "Ms. Ajundas' experience, skill and drive will be instrumental in accelerating our growth as we continue to consolidate our first-mover advantage.  She will be responsible for all the Special Economic Zones / Industrial Parks being developed by Mahindra Gesco Developers Ltd and will head the South India operations of the Real Estate business of Mahindra Gesco.

 

A business management post-graduate from BIM, Trichy, Ms. Arjundas has over 18 years of professional experience. She joined the Mahindra Group in 2002 as Vice-President, Marketing, for Mahindra World City Developers Limited. In 2006, Ms. Arjundas was promoted as the COO of Mahindra World City, Chennai where she played a crucial part in bringing many leading Indian and international names like Infosys , BMW, Shell, B Braun and the TVS Group to set up their campuses at Corporate India's first Special Economic Zone and India's first integrated business city in a public-private partnership model.

 

She started her corporate career as a Management Trainee in the Murugappa Group with Parrys Confectionery Limited (now Lotte Confectionery) and went on to head the marketing function.

 

Ms. Arjundas is also Director on the Board of Ascendas Mahindra IT Park Ltd - an IT Park being developed in the Mahindra World City SEZ.
