American Express unveils Ultimate Platinum Experience

American Express today announced the launch of the " Ultimate Platinum Experience" for its Cardmembers in India. In a first-of-its-kind programme in India, an American Express Cardmember will get the opportunity to drive away in the iconic Porsche 911 Targa.  The privileged Cardmember, along with four other Cardmembers will also get to visit the Porsche factory in Germany, and experience the thrill of a race-track test-drive.

 

Abhishek Bachchan, the first Platinum Club member in India, will hand over the Porsche keys in a glittering ceremony. To participate in this programme, all that Cardmembers need to do is spend Rs. 10000 on their American Express card during the period July 1st - October 31st, 2007. For every Rs.10,000 spend Cardmember earns one entry into the draw. During the programme period all existing and New Platinum Cardmembers start with 5 bonus entries into the programme as well.

The American Express Platinum Club is a premium service aimed at 1.4 million strong emerging affluent consumer segments in India, which is growing at 25% year on year. These emerging affluent consumers, earn between Rs. 20 - 25 lacs or upwards a year, are between 30-45 years of age, travel abroad at least three times a year, and entertain and dine out at least three times more than an average consumer. American Express has witnessed an overwhelming response for the Platinum Club in India and expects to exceed its membership targets this year.

 

Card membership comes at a lifetime fee of Rs.50, 000.

  

The Platinum Club also offers another first for the industry - members can earn rewards that are 10  times  more than the industry average - increasing the financial returns on their Card spend, manifold.
