Ambuja to invest Rs 325 cr to expand WB plant capacity

Ambuja Cements today announced capacity expansion of its Sankrail grinding unit in West Bengal to 2.4 million tonnes at an investment of Rs 325 crore.

Ambuja Cements today announced capacity expansion of its Sankrail grinding unit in West Bengal to 2.4 million tonnes at an investment of Rs 325 crore. "The capacity of the Sankrail grinding unit of the company would be expanded from 1.5 million tonne per annum to 2.4 million tonne at an investment of Rs 325 crore," the company said in a release.

This plant was originally commissioned in 2000 and has established a strong footprint in the region by providing best quality cement, the company said.

On September 17, 2014, at 13:10 hrs Ambuja Cements was quoting at Rs 209.20, up Rs 2.60, or 1.26 percent. The 52-week high of the share was Rs 243.85 and the 52-week low was Rs 150.50.


The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 9.11 per share as per the quarter ended June 2014. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 22.96. The latest book value of the company is Rs 61.26 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company is 3.41.
