Ashok Leyland and Bosch will contribute Rs. 40 million each for the Engineering Design Programme. The engineers of Ashok Leyland and Bosch will be trained by IIT Madras and candidates meeting the admission norms will be admitted to M.S. and Ph.D. programmes. These efforts will boost the Research and Development activities in the two companies.
This 55000 sq. feet Center of Excellence will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research. A graphic art studio, Computer Aided Engineering Center, and laboratories for product design, ergonomics, mechatronics, controls, and vehicle dynamics.
