Air India-IA to fly as National Aviation Co of India

The CMD of Air India , V Thulasidas said they are awaiting orders from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for approving the merger of Air India and India Airlines, reports CNBC-TV18.

 

The two airlines will fly as the National Aviation Company of India, or NACIL, with the brand name Air India, and will have 135 aircrafts by 2011.

 

The total number of combined employees will be 34,000 and the equity base of the new company will be Rs 150 crores. It will be looking to set up a hub in Europe.
